Air Fryer Smoked Paprika & Honey Glazed Trout


This Air Fryer Smoked Paprika & Honey Glazed Trout combines smoky, sweet, and slightly tangy flavors for a perfectly balanced and easy-to-make dish. The air fryer ensures tender, flaky fish with a caramelized glaze.



Ingredients:

For the Trout:

  • 4 trout fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper


For the Glaze:

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar

  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)


For Garnish:

  • Lemon wedges

  • Fresh parsley



Instructions:


1. Prepare the Trout:

  • Rinse the trout fillets and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.

  • Brush both sides of the fillets with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.


2. Make the Glaze:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, apple cider vinegar, and chili flakes (if using).


3. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.


4. Cook the Trout:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Place the trout fillets skin-side down in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, until the fish is tender and flaky.


5. Glaze the Trout:

  • During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the glaze generously over the trout fillets. Allow it to caramelize slightly.


6. Serve:

  • Transfer the trout to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

  • Caramelization: For an extra glossy glaze, brush additional glaze over the trout after cooking.
