Air Fryer Panko Crusted Haddock with Dill Sauce

This Air Fryer Panko Crusted Haddock with Dill Sauce is a crispy and flavorful dish that’s easy to make in the air fryer. The creamy dill sauce adds a refreshing twist to this golden, flaky fish.

Ingredients:

For the Haddock:

  • 4 haddock fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Dill Sauce:

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Haddock:

  • Rinse the haddock fillets and pat them dry with paper towels.

  • Brush each fillet lightly with olive oil to help the coating stick.

2. Make the Panko Coating:

  • In a shallow dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.

3. Coat the Fillets:

  • Press each haddock fillet into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated. Press gently to adhere the crumbs to the fish.

4. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes. This ensures even cooking and a crispy crust.

5. Cook the Haddock:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.

  • Arrange the coated haddock fillets in a single layer, leaving space between each fillet for proper air circulation.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. The crust should be golden and crispy, and the fish should flake easily with a fork.

6. Make the Dill Sauce:

  • While the fish cooks, whisk together the Greek yogurt, dill, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

7. Serve:

  • Remove the haddock from the air fryer and transfer to serving plates.

  • Serve immediately with the dill sauce on the side or drizzled over the fillets.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Fresh Dill: Use fresh dill for the best flavor in the sauce. If using dried dill, reduce the amount by half.

  • Crispier Crust: Lightly spray the tops of the coated fillets with cooking spray before air frying to enhance crispiness.

  • Other Fish Options: This recipe works great with cod, tilapia, or pollock as substitutes.

Serving Suggestions:

Pair this crispy haddock with:

  • Vegetables: Air-fried green beans, roasted asparagus, or a fresh cucumber-tomato salad.

  • Grains: Lemon herb rice, quinoa, or a creamy risotto.

  • Potatoes: Mashed potatoes, roasted baby potatoes, or sweet potato fries.
