Air Fryer Lemon Herb Trout Fillets


Delicate and flavorful, this Lemon Herb Trout recipe is a light and healthy dish. Cooked to perfection in the air fryer, it’s infused with fresh citrus and herbs for a refreshing meal.



Ingredients:


For the Trout:

  • 4 trout fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped)

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper


For Garnish:

  • Lemon wedges

  • Fresh parsley or dill



Instructions:


1. Prepare the Trout:

  • Rinse the trout fillets and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.

  • Brush both sides of the fillets with olive oil.

  • In a small bowl, mix lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture evenly over the fillets.


2. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.


3. Cook the Trout:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Place the fillets skin-side down in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes. The fish should be tender and flake easily with a fork.


4. Serve:

  • Transfer the trout to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill and serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of citrus.

  • Skin-On Fillets: Leaving the skin on helps keep the trout moist during cooking.
