Air Fryer Lemon Herb Swordfish Steaks

Bright, zesty, and full of fresh herbs, these Air Fryer Lemon Herb Swordfish Steaks are a light and flavorful dish. Perfectly air-fried, they’re a healthy and delicious way to enjoy a quick seafood dinner.

Ingredients:

For the Swordfish:

  • 4 swordfish steaks (about 6-8 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For Garnish:

  • Lemon wedges

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Swordfish:

  • Rinse the swordfish steaks and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

2. Season the Swordfish:

  • Brush the lemon herb mixture generously over both sides of the swordfish steaks. Let them rest for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.

4. Cook the Swordfish:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Place the seasoned swordfish steaks in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through. The fish should be opaque and flake easily with a fork.

5. Serve:

  • Transfer the cooked swordfish steaks to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges for an extra burst of citrus.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Fresh Lemon Zest: Use fresh lemon zest for the best flavor. Avoid grating the white pith, as it can be bitter.

  • Custom Herbs: Swap thyme and oregano for dill or basil for a different herb profile.

  • Don’t Overcook: Swordfish can become dry if overcooked, so keep a close eye during the last few minutes.
