Air Fryer Honey Mustard Crusted Halibut

This Air Fryer Honey Mustard Crusted Halibut combines the sweetness of honey, the tang of mustard, and a crispy breadcrumb topping. Cooked to flaky perfection in the air fryer, it’s a quick and elegant meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 halibut fillets (about 6-8 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Halibut:

  • Rinse the halibut fillets and pat them dry with paper towels.

  • Lightly season both sides with salt and pepper.

2. Make the Honey Mustard Mixture:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard and honey until smooth.

3. Prepare the Breadcrumb Topping:

  • In a separate bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, and olive oil. Stir until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.

4. Coat the Halibut:

  • Brush the top of each fillet with the honey mustard mixture.

  • Press the breadcrumb mixture onto the honey mustard-coated side of the fish, ensuring it adheres evenly.

5. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.

6. Cook the Halibut:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Place the fillets breadcrumb-side up in the basket.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork.

7. Serve:

  • Transfer the cooked halibut to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Even Coating: Press the breadcrumb topping firmly onto the honey mustard to ensure it sticks during cooking.

  • Prevent Overcooking: Check for doneness at the 10-minute mark, as halibut can dry out if overcooked.

  • Alternative Fish: This recipe works beautifully with cod, salmon, or snapper.
