Air Fryer Crispy Panko Crusted Haddock


Crunchy, golden, and delicious, this Air Fryer Crispy Panko Crusted Haddock is a simple and satisfying dish. Air-fried to perfection, it’s a healthier take on classic fried fish.



Ingredients:


For the Haddock:

  • 4 haddock fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • Cooking spray


For Garnish:

  • Lemon wedges

  • Fresh parsley, chopped



Instructions:


1. Prepare the Haddock:

  • Rinse the haddock fillets and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.


2. Set Up the Coating Stations:

  • Place the flour in a shallow dish.

  • Beat the eggs in a second shallow dish.

  • In a third dish, mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.


3. Coat the Fish:

  • Dredge each haddock fillet in flour, shaking off the excess.

  • Dip into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.

  • Press into the panko mixture, coating both sides evenly.


4. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.


5. Cook the Haddock:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Place the breaded haddock fillets in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the coating is golden brown and the fish is flaky.


6. Serve:

  • Transfer the crispy haddock to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.



Pro Tips for Success:

  • Extra Crispy Coating: Lightly spray the tops of the breaded fillets with cooking spray before air frying.

  • Even Coating: Press the panko mixture firmly onto the fish for a more uniform crust.

  • Alternative Coating: Use crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs for a different texture.
