Air Fryer Cauliflower Tacos

Air fryer cauliflower tacos are a flavorful, plant-based twist on traditional tacos. The spiced cauliflower florets are crispy and tender, making them the perfect filling for a taco night that everyone will love.

Ingredients:

For the Cauliflower:

  • 1 medium cauliflower head (about 4 cups of florets)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • ½ teaspoon cumin

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Tacos:

  • 8 small tortillas (corn or flour)

  • Toppings of choice, such as:

    • Shredded lettuce

    • Diced tomatoes

    • Sliced avocado or guacamole

    • Salsa or pico de gallo

    • Lime wedges

    • Vegan or traditional sour cream

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Air fryer

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Tongs or spatula

Preparation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower Florets:

    • Wash and dry the cauliflower. Cut it into bite-sized florets.

    • Place the florets in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Season the Cauliflower:

    • Drizzle the olive oil over the cauliflower.

    • Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

    • Toss well to ensure all florets are evenly coated with the seasoning.

Air Frying Steps:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F for about 3-5 minutes.

  2. Place the seasoned cauliflower florets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking.

  3. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the florets halfway through. The cauliflower should be golden brown and slightly crispy when done.

Assembling the Tacos:

  1. Warm the tortillas in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes or on a skillet.

  2. Add a generous scoop of the air-fried cauliflower to each tortilla.

  3. Top with your choice of toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, salsa, and a squeeze of lime juice.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve the tacos immediately while the cauliflower is warm and crispy.

  • Pair with a side of Mexican rice or black beans for a complete meal.

  • Garnish with fresh cilantro for a burst of flavor.

Tips for Success:

  • Customize the Spice Level: Add more chili powder or cayenne pepper for spicier tacos.

  • Tortilla Options: Use gluten-free tortillas for a gluten-free version.

  • Storage and Reheating: Store leftover cauliflower in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 5-6 minutes.
