Air Fryer Link Sausage

Servings: 4

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 10-12 minutes

Total Time: 14 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound link sausage (e.g., breakfast sausage, Italian sausage, or bratwurst)

  • Optional: olive oil spray

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sausage:

    • If your sausage links are connected, use kitchen scissors to cut them apart.

    • Lightly spray the sausages with olive oil to help them crisp up, although this step is optional.

  2. Air Fry the Sausage:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for about 3 minutes.

    • Place the sausage links in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding the basket so that the heat can circulate evenly.

    • Air fry the sausage links for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking. The sausages should be browned and have an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for pork sausages.

  3. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Once the sausages are cooked through, remove them from the air fryer and let cool for a minute. Serve as part of your favorite breakfast or alongside your preferred sides.

Pro Tips:

  • Cooking Time: Depending on the thickness of your sausage links, cooking time may vary. Thicker sausages like bratwurst may need an extra 2-3 minutes.

  • Crispier Sausages: For extra crispy sausage links, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 2 minutes of cooking.

  • Prevent Splitting: To prevent sausage links from splitting, pierce them a couple of times with a fork before cooking to allow steam to escape.

  • Batch Cooking: If cooking more than 1 pound of sausage, do so in batches to ensure even cooking.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Breakfast Classic: Serve with scrambled eggs, toast, and hash browns for a classic breakfast.

  • Brunch Plate: Pair with pancakes or waffles for a hearty brunch option.

  • Add to a Casserole: Slice the cooked sausages and add them to a breakfast casserole or hash for a savory addition.
