To Pod or Not to Pod: Air Fryer Edamame Recipe

Do you want a snack that is simple to make and crunchy to munch on? Say hello to edamame! It's a nutritious snack that's packed with protein and fiber. But have you tried cooking them in an air fryer yet? This appliance isn't just for fries and wings - it can bring a crunch to your health kick too. So slide in those edamame pods or toss in the plain beans and let's get cooking! This Air Fryer Edamame Recipe is it!

Edamame in Pods:

  1. Start with a bag of frozen edamame in pods (found at most grocery stores). Rinse them under cold water to remove any ice crystals.

  2. Pat the edamame dry with a paper towel and transfer them to a mixing bowl.

  3. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil on top and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Toss the edamame pods around to get an even coating.

  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 5 minutes. Once it's ready, place the edamame in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

  5. Cook for 6-8 minutes or until the pods are crispy and tender on the inside. You can pause the air fryer halfway through and shake the basket to ensure even cooking.

Edamame without Pods:

  1. Begin with a bag of frozen shelled edamame. Rinse them under cold water to remove any ice crystals.

  2. Pat the edamame dry with a paper towel and transfer them to a mixing bowl.

  3. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of sesame oil on top and sprinkle salt and garlic powder to taste. Toss the edamame around in the bowl to get an even coating.

  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes. Once it's ready, place the edamame in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

  5. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until they're golden brown and crispy on the outside. You can shake the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
